While many people like to say 12.75v is 100% as absolute fact, actual full charge resting voltage varies quite widely across different batteries and the climate they were intended to be used in.Īctual full charge resting voltage would ideally be figured out when the battery was spanking new, fully charged, and its temperature recorded as well, and all future voltage readigs can then be compared to this initial recording, and hopefully the battery temperature is similar too. Voltage is only accurate as to state of charge on a battery which has not seen any charging or discharging currents for a long period of time, the longer period of time, the more accurate it is. Starting a load test with a less than fully charged battery, is throwing a monkey wrench into the test, unless the state of charge of the battery is the same at the beginning for the tests, which is also not easy to determine as voltage is not the fuel gauge that people assume it is. If the loads are known, and they are applied for a known amount of time, then that is a load test, comparable to future load tests using the same loads and durations. Charging a batery from 80% to 100% takes no less than 3.5 hours, assuming mid 14 volts can be attained and held for thoe 3.5 hours.ĭo not expect your vehicle to hold mid 14's even if you are to drive 3.5 hours.ĭo not assume the voltage your vehicle allows after start up, is the voltage it always holds.ĭo not trust your dashboard voltmeter to actually represent true battery terminal voltage. One kept 75 to 85% charged, subjected to medium high average ambient temperatures, and never ever allowed to reach true 100% charged will be lucky to last 2 years.ĭo not assume your vehicle can or does fully charge the battery. One kept in the 85 to 95% charged range never fully charged 100%, and subjected to high average temperatures, might be extremely lucky to last 4 years. Any data can help educate those guesses, but with no data or experience with the same vehicle, there is not much point in guessing.Ī 4 year old battery kept cool and is fully charged at all times, or very nearly so, could easily live 4 more years. So unless the loads on the battery are known as either wattage or amperage, then judging how long a battery powers a load before it no longer has the ability to start is pure conjecture. Painting all vehicles with the same brush as to the amount of this parasitic draw would be overwhelmingly asinine, without actual data on a specifc vehicle. The ACC Key position can have other quiescent/parasitic draws even if the stereo is off. It can be turned on with the remote and still connect to my bluetooth phone when the stereo is off, so its 0.3 amp draw when off, is a bit excessive. If my stereo is turned off, but its ignition switched wire is still on, it is drawing 0.3 amps. spinning the CD player uses more amperage than bluetooth or using the Aux input. Turned on volume all the way down my stereo draws about 0.8 amps, volume about 1/4 the max and amperage is about 3.2 amps. Subwoofers are Vampires, even at low volumes. Additional amplifiers vastly increase the amp draw. My stereo which is a simple pioneer head unit that claims 50w x 4, draws about 10-12 amps at max volume playing a song with pumping base. I have NO FREAKING IDEA, for your vehicle. What is the reasonable amp draw on a battery, when the key is in ACC, and the stereo is on, at say 1/3 of max volume? If 4 hours of stereo at 2 amps of draw caused a no start, then unless that 50 battery were otherwise discharged by other means, i would not have much faith in its remaining capacity, as depleting 8AH of its when new 50AH capacity (ignoring peukert) should still allow the engine to easily start. So if 4 hours of stereo listening caused a no start, it would be reasonable if the stereo was pulling 10 amps and the battery only had 50Ah capacity when new. The bigger the load, the less overall capacity the battery has to give, so states Peukert's law, and batteries will have different peukert numbers and these numbers will change for the worse as the battery ages, and as its capacity is also declining. This DOES NOT MEAN, a 100 AH battery can provide 100 amps for 1 hour though. IThe 77f/25c battery, earns that 100 amp hour capacity rating providing 5 amps for 20 hours before voltage falls to 10.5v, which is considered 100% discharged. Generally the biggest group 31 car jar/ automotive batterym which is 13 inches long, 9 inches tall, and 6.75 inches wide and weighs ~54 lbs and hopefully more, has about 100 Amp hours possibly as high as 130AH most car batteries are far smaller with an equal reduction in capacity. I mean if it is using 10 amps average, for 4 hours, that would be 40 amp hours. Do you have any idea how much amperage your stereo uses at the volume you listened to it at?

This concept is known as Ribot’s law, named after the French psychologist Theodule-Armand Ribot. With this type of amnesia, a person experiences significant memory loss for more recent memories, while more distant memories remain largely unaffected. Temporally graded retrograde amnesia refers to the type of amnesia in which memory loss is graded – or in other words, varies in intensity. He is now living with one of the most extreme cases of retrograde amnesia on record.Retrograde amnesia simply refers to the form of amnesia that affects past memories, but there are several different types of this amnesia. Bolzan fell, hit his head, and deleted 46 years of his life in an instant. However, for real-life sufferers of retrograde amnesia, like former NFL football player Scott Bolzan, the story is not a Hollywood movie. This may sound like the stuff of Hollywood movies, and Hollywood has been fascinated with the amnesia plot for nearly a century, going all the way back to the film Garden of Lies from 1915 to more recent movies such as the Jason Bourne trilogy starring Matt Damon. You don’t remember anything about your life prior to waking up in the hospital. You were in a car accident, suffered a head injury, and now have retrograde amnesia. What if you woke up in the hospital one day and there were people surrounding your bed claiming to be your spouse, your children, and your parents? The trouble is you don’t recognize any of them. They have difficulty remembering episodic memories. People with retrograde amnesia cannot remember some or even all of their past. Retrograde amnesia is loss of memory for events that occurred prior to the trauma. However, when presented the same puzzle several days in a row, although he did not remember having seen the puzzle before, his speed at solving it became faster each day (because of relearning) (Corkin, 1965, 1968). and then you left the room for a few minutes, he would not know you upon your return and would introduce himself to you again. He also could not remember people he had met after his surgery. would read the same magazine over and over, having no memory of ever reading it-it was always new to him. The brain damage caused by his surgery resulted in anterograde amnesia. Many people with this form of amnesia are unable to form new episodic or semantic memories, but are still able to form new procedural memories (Bayley & Squire, 2002). anterograde), just think of the word “retro” (e.g., that lamp from the 70’s is so retro) to help remind you that this amnesia deals with forgetting old memories. To help remember which amnesia is which (retrograde vs. This suggests that damage to the brain has resulted in the inability to transfer information from short-term to long-term memory that is, the inability to consolidate memories.įigure 2. The hippocampus is usually affected (McLeod, 2011). With anterograde amnesia, you cannot remember new information, although you can remember information and events that happened prior to your injury. Anterograde amnesia is commonly caused by brain trauma, such as a blow to the head. There are two common types of amnesia: anterograde amnesia and retrograde amnesia (Figure 1). The only exception is the experiences that, at any time, he has had in the last minute or two. His episodic amnesia covers his whole life, from birth to the present. The outstanding fact about K.C.’s mental make-up is his utter inability to remember any events, circumstances, or situations from his own life. suffered a traumatic head injury in a motorcycle accident and then had severe amnesia. Psychologist Endel Tulving (2002) and his colleagues at the University of Toronto studied K.C. Amnesia is the loss of long-term memory that occurs as the result of disease, physical trauma, or psychological trauma. There are several reasons why this happens. However, all of us have at times felt frustrated, and even embarrassed, when our memories have failed us. You may pride yourself on your amazing ability to remember the birthdates and ages of all of your friends and family members, or you may be able recall vivid details of your 5th birthday party at Chuck E.

Jarvis, re Transcoding: “On Infuse’s roadmap to integrate”? Why? It is completely unnecessary. Infuse respects watched/unwatched from Plex server. I find that Infuse generally has a higher quality visual output compared to the Plex player, which can seem rather washed out in comparison at times. Infuse 6.5 is available today, and includes some great new things Cloud, clouds, clouds Now there are even more ways to stream with the addition of pCloud and Yandex.Disk. With no transcoding needed, 4K HDR content is easily streamable over the home WiFi network. I couldn’t imagine going back to the stock (or experimental) Plex player now. Infuse has completely eliminated these frustrations for me. I use WiFi for streaming so I don’t need the unnecessary transcoding bottlenecks. The Plex player on Android and even the iOS/tvOS version would constantly be transcoding stuff, which bogged down the streaming and just caused quality issues on my setup here. This was the main reason I got the ATV and got away from using the built in Android on my Sony TV. Infuse on my ATV4K/ATV-HD plays everything my Plex server can throw at it without ever transcoding. It's not to say Things 3 is perfect, there is room for new features that don't require a whole new product like Things 4. Things 3 seems to solve the majority of my needs and gives me a platform to get on top of my work. The fact of the matter is, it’s all just procrastination and the limitless amount of choices leads to a perpetual cycle where nothing is good enough. In the world of productivity, there’s a fascination with an all-encompassing product that magically fixes our lives leading to, myself included, switching applications constantly seeking out the “best”. We don’t constantly need new or better, we just need a system, whether that be in an application or a notebook that helps us to understand our own brains and get the most from them. In today’s society, there’s a need for more with the newest thing or the vast amount of options giving an almost crippling choice selection. I believe that the key to any productivity tool is the manner in which it adapts to your life, not the other way around. The beauty of Things 3 is just how simple and barebones is it to use on the surface but equally how vast its use cases are. The thing about the productivity world and the apps that we have access to across the App Store is that quite honestly, most of the time less is more. Think of it almost in the same way a calendar app like Fantastical works by integrating with Google Calendars to become more than just the app I use to view and edit my schedule, but also the app that controls the whole framework - I want Things to be less of a walled garden and more of the control hub for my brain. If I had the ability to work in Things and have those tasks automatically pop up in Reminders, the app would become an even more useful tool for working on small projects with those who just want to use what they are used to. If Things 4 was able to export back to Reminders then my previous point about collaboration wouldn’t even need to be addressed. In Things 3, you can easily import from Apple’s Reminders app but I wish there was the choice to go even further with that seamless integration. (Image credit: Things) Better Reminders integrationĪ problem many apps face when coming up against Apple’s native alternatives is the just the sheer widespread audience that native apps have. In the top left-hand corner, you can also tick the box to select all file types.Īfter clicking next, a new window opens with the locations that you can scan. When you open Recoverit, a window will open with the types of files you want to recover. You will see the usual download instructions which you need to follow. In the first place, you need to choose the ‘Download for Win’ or ‘Download for Mac’ from the Wondershare site. Recoverit data recovery was a pleasant surprise. Even the most tech-minded of us have tried other data recovery solutions, and 20 clicks later, we delete our progress and moved on to the next. We are naturally dubious when software companies use expressions like “Only 3-steps”. How Easy Is Wondershare Recoverit to Use? This meant we had to recover all word documents instead of just those we wanted. We were able to preview all of the photos that we wanted to recover, but the names of the word documents had disappeared. We also had to change our privacy settings and restart the computer when trying to recover our deleted trash, although this didn’t happen when we scanned the USB. On our MacOS Big Sur, the locations came up before the options to select file types. We tested this email service, and every query was resolved with no need for follow up. The online support is exceptionally useful for those in other countries. The service comes with free tech support in the US 24/7.Wondershare Recoverit is completely safe to use and comes with a 100% secure virus-free guarantee, which is ideal if you are recovering data after a virus or malware.Aside from recovering data from your Recycle Bin, you can also scan all types of memory cards, hard drives, removable drives, flash drives, and digital cameras and camcorders. The general rule is that if your operating system can view a file type, Wondershare Recoverit can recover it. It supports DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX, PPT, PDF, HTML/HTM, JPG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, WMF, RAW, VVI, MOV, MP4, MPG, AIF, WAV, MP3, PST, EMLX, ZIP, RAR, and more. You can also benefit from video fragment technology to recover those videos that you thought you would ever see again. It uses an advanced data recovery algorithm with smart scan and deep scan technology. We successfully recovered everything we lost when using macOS (version 11.1 Big Sur) and Windows 10. The software has been known to recover data that other solutions haven’t.
He told her to tell his wife, Lisa, pregnant with their third child, he loved his family. He asked her to recite The Lord's Prayer with him. Todd Beamer, strong, competitive, athletic, traveling on business to San Francisco, told Jefferson of the plan to rush the cockpit. Here was an “independent ear witness” recalling the final moments of his life, giving the Beamers some answers that have eluded so many other 9/11 families, affirming what they already knew about their loved one. During that race across the country, he learned of the in-flight call between his son and GTE Airfone supervisor Lisa Jefferson. Then in California, David Beamer drove coast to coast - airlines were grounded - to a New Jersey church for the memorial service for his 32-year-old son. Still, the passengers continued their assault.Īt 10:03 a.m., the plane hurtled, almost upside-down, into a field in western Pennsylvania at 580 mph, killing all 33 passengers and seven crew members on board and leaving a crater of scorched earth some 20 minutes of flying time from its presumed target in Washington. As passengers stormed the cockpit, the hijackers tried to knock them off balance by steering the plane sharply to the left and right.Ī cockpit voice recorder captured the sounds of fighting, shouting, breaking glass and plates. The four hijackers on Flight 93 likely intended to crash the Boeing 757 into the U.S. “And namely to fight back, to launch this successful counterattack.” “It was a call to action, to do the right thing,” David Beamer said. He'll leave a note of thanks on the windshield of the car because whoever owns it remembers his son's resolve. “Are you guys ready?” an air phone operator heard Beamer, a Wheaton College graduate, ask his fellow passengers on United Flight 93 just before they revolted against al-Qaida hijackers that morning 20 years ago.īeamer's father, David, sometimes comes across the same two words on a license plate.
